Olive Oil Wedding Favor Tips

The Passionate Olive girlAre you in the middle of planning your wedding? How would you like your guests to remember your special day – year after year? Look no further for that unique and interesting favor for your wedding. Olive oil is not only rich in history, being considered a “gift from the Gods” but has long been associated with health, beauty, longevity…and sensuality.

I have attended several weddings where bottles of olive oil were the favors and have noted this use of olive oil (as use #94) in my book, The Passionate Olive – 101 Things to do with Olive Oil.

You can arrange to have a privately labeled small bottle of extra virgin olive oil made for each guest. The personalized label could include the bride and groom’s name and wedding date or you could decorate a small bottle of olive oil with ribbons and cards that match you wedding color schemes. A word of caution if you create your own wedding favors using small bottles and filling them with extra virgin olive oil: don’t infuse your olive oil with a sprig of rosemary. At one of the weddings I attended, the bride had made her own wedding favors weeks before the reception and the rosemary had become spoiled. She had to re-create the favors the night before the reception. Best to order the small bottles filled with EVOO only!

Olive Oil favors are a great hit and you can well image the many clever comments you will hear at the dinner tables about how the guests were going to use their olive oil after the reception. The next time I will have to listen more closely for the comments I may want to include in my next book!

Look for additional tips soon. If you can’t wait, please order a book and a bottle from Olinda Ridge or visit www.thepassionateolive.com.
